Information Technology and Data Management Standing Committee

Purpose and Authority:

The Information Technology and Data Management Standing Committee will deal with issues of what data will be collected, the quality of the data collected and how the collection will be managed.  The Standing Committee will decide on all issues regarding all aspects of surveillance including, the data life cycle; collection, standardization, transfer and storage.  The Committee will provide advice to the CPCSSN Committee, may identify surveillance or research questions that will support data collection, indicators to be measured, denominator issues, coding classifications, and representativeness and sentinel sites sample.  All issues of data security in an EMR environment will be an important part of the work of this Committee.  This Standing Committee will liaise closely with both the Privacy & Ethics and the Information Technology Standing Committees.

Chair
CPCSSN manager
Minimum of 3 members chosen from participating PBRNs
Consultants and/or experts as deemed necessary by the Chair
CIHI (1 non-voting member)
