Purpose and Authority:

The IT Standing Committee will deal with issues of the technology platform used to store the data and ensure compatibility among sites.  This Standing Committee will also be responsible for issues of EMR integration, security and examining the opportunities and challenges associated with data collection where data is not provided or stored in a consistent format across sites.  This Standing Committee will liaise closely with both the Privacy & Ethics and the Data Management Standing Committees.  

The Data Management and the Information Technology Standing Committees will be combined into one committee during the initiation phase of the CCPSSN for ease of implementation but it is anticipated that the Committees will be split once the pilot phase is complete.

Minimum of 3 members chosen from participating PBRNs
Consultants and/or experts as deemed necessary by the Chair
CIHI (1 non-voting member)
